| A major electrical overhaul of Eaton Gomery is still occupying the group as we are systematically moving along the layout isolating the mysterious short. A number of electrical peculiarities have been recitified as well as several dry joints, loose wires, suspect switches and a weak capacitor discharge unit.
The Exhibiton planning is all going 'full steam ahead' (forgive the pun), Returns from the last trader invites are still awaited before we can finalise the floor plan and rationalise the barrier situation. Our advertising is shortly about to start and the flyer has been completed, featuring 'County Gate' and is currently with the printers. Incidentially 'County Gate' looks to be a rather special layout and well worth a trip to Wigan to see it in the flesh.

| We have all recovered from Eaton Gomery's trip to York at Easter. A very enjoyable weekend only spoilt by the peculiar weather. We awoke on Saturday to three inches of snow which didn't do a lot for the Exhibiton attendance. The layout seemed to be well received and has generated a fair amount of interest on the RMweb. No one seemed to notice the electrical short that prevented traffic entering and leaving the Goods Yard. It has proved so elusive that for four weeks we still haven't solved the problem. We had three new operators with us, Trevor Gibson and Merrick Tomlinson of Sykes Bridge fame soon adjusted to the change in scale from 7mm to 4, and Sam our lady operator who passed out with flying colours.
The Exhibiton organisation continues a pace now that we have secured sponsorship from the North West Regional Develpoment Agency. This additional funding has enabled us to balance our budget and remove a little of the financial worry even though the sums are becoming a little frightening. All of the forty layouts are now confirmed (see Exhibition Exhibitors) and the trade is in the latter stages of confirmation. We have a number of new traders attending this year (see Exhibiton Traders) which will be welcomed by all those modellers looking for those hard to come by bits and pieces. We have been in conversation with Bachmann who are promising to do 'something special' for the show, so watch this space.

| We are now established in rooms at the John Eddleston Centre in Billinge. We are in the process of moving 'Millport' so that work can begin on its refurbishment. Next week will see us start testing 'Eaton Gomery' before it appears at Easter in York.

| On The Move We have been in negotiations to move out of our temporary room in Wigan, into more permanent accommodation within the John Eddleston Centre in Billinge. This will give us a more comfortable situation in which to get 'Eaton Gomery' improved and tested before the visit to York at Easter. Then we can trun our attention to rewiring 'Millport' with a view to its reapperance on the exhibition circuit. Hopefully our move will be completed for the monthly business meeting during the first week in Februrary.
2007 Exhibition Thank you to all those exhibitors, traders, and visitors who have contacted us to let us know how much they enjoyed the show. For us it was a particularly difficult exhibition, logistically rather than financially, but the many expressions of appreciation did a lot to lift our spirits. We hope to see you all again next year.
